ABOUT 5 CARD STUD

5 Card stud is very similar to 7 Card Stud; in fact, it’s played by the same rules but, with up to 10 players. The only difference is that one card is dealt face down to each player instead of two; there are 2nd, 3rd and 4th streets, plus the River.

7-Card Stud Betting Structure: 7-Card Stud is essentially a Limit game. Initially, every player posts an Ante. This is a forced bet to get money in the pot before any further betting takes place. Each player is then dealt one card at a time, until every player has 3 cards. The first 2 cards are dealt face down and the 3rd card is dealt face up. This face up card is known as a Door Card. NB: All dealing and betting run in a clockwise direction. There are five rounds of betting in 7-Card Stud. The first two rounds use the lower limit bets and the last 3 rounds use the higher limit bets – similar to Limit Hold’em. The exception here is that if a player holds a pair, or better, on the 4th Street. This exception may be seen below:
